Beeswax Candles
All our decorative and coloured candles are handmade using 100% Australian Beeswax and a cotton braided wick.
These candles come unscented and are designed to fit into any home, adding a pop of colour and shining that bright light through your space while you burn them.
Beeswax ~ We use 100% Australian Beeswax in our candles, sourced from an apiary in regional Victoria. As we don’t use any additives, eventually a white film on the outside of the candle will start to form, this is called “blooming”.
This is perfectly fine to burn, but if it’s not the look you are after, use a damp cloth to wipe it away or a hairdryer on the lowest setting to apply some heat to remove the bloom.
Please note it will come back after a while, as it’s a natural process of beeswax.
Why do we use Beeswax? As these types of candles are made in a unique mould, we need to use a denser volumed wax, which will ensure the candle is solid enough to keep its shape.
A lot of candlemakers use soy wax in these types of candles, but it’s not 100% soy (as it’s a soft wax), it’s usually a blend using paraffin or additives.
Colour Dyes ~ Our candles are coloured using perfectly safe candle colour dyes. The colour “Honey” is left undyed, and shows the true colour of the beeswax we use.
Each colour is named after a fruit or vegetable. We endeavour to create each colour as similar to the previous batches, however it all depends on the flowering season and the bees from our supplier.
Best Tip: Always keep away from direct sunlight, as the colour can fade.
