100% Essential Oil Candles

All our scented candles are handmade in Victoria in small batches, using 100% natural soy wax, lead-free cotton wicks and vessels designed to be reused/recycled.

Soy Wax ~ We use 100% Soy wax, which is bio-degradable, non-toxic and vegan. Some of our candles may have visible veins, air bubbles or small holes throughout the wax, this is completely normal as we don’t use any additives, the best news is those imperfections won't affect your candle experience.

Wicks ~ Our wicks are lead-free and made out of cotton. The reason why some candle companies use lead in their wicks, is to ensure the wick stands up straight throughout the burning experience. We don’t believe it’s necessary to be burning lead, but it is important to ensure the wick is centred at all times.

To make sure the wick is centred, after you extinguish your candle and it’s cooling down, grab a wick dipper or a bamboo skewer and straighten/move the wick across to the centre. Most of the time, the wick will curl and will only need to be lifted and moved slightly.

Why does everyone mention trimming the wick?

It’s very common practice for serious candle burners to trim the wick before you light your candle. This ensures that the flame doesn’t get too large and out of control. It also decreases the amount of soot which can build up, and most importantly it will give you the most burn time out of your candle.

It’s such a small effort for a large reward, so remember to trim the wick!

Essential Oil ~ We use 100% pure essential oil in our Aromatherapy range. Using pure essential oils in candles will not give off the same strong fragrance throw as our other scented candles, so it's suitable for someone who is sensitive to strong fragrance or has allergies to normal fragrance oils.

Vessels ~ Our amber jars used for our scented candles can be reuse or recycled. The black lids are made out of ABS plastic, which can also be recycled. If you are going to recycle these, please remove the white inner from the lid before disposing in the recycling bin, as this part cannot be recycled.

Best Tips - Always trim your wick before you light your candle and ensure the wick is centred.
